Western Work Boats supplies workboats and services to Defence, DOC, Regional Councils, Commercial Divers and Oil Companies. It is based at the ports of Tauranga and Auckland, New Zealand.
Western Work Boats was formed in 2000 and currently owns MV "Tranquil Image", MV "Star Keys", MV "Macy Gray" and MV "Jack Sparrow" .
Sean Kelly is the Managing Director of the company and has an extensive background in the marine industry. He is an RNZN trained Electronics Technician, a New Zealand Offshore Master, First Class Diesel Trawler Engineer and is a trained Dive Master. As well as being Managing Director, Sean skippers his and other boats as required. He has a wide experience of many different vessels involved in a multitude of tasks within the industry.
Navigation system experience includes HANDLAPS, SWINGS, WINFROG & HYDROPRO. He has a Schlumberger QHSE passport and carries a Defence Contractor's security ID.
Hydrographic and seismic survey experience includes Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, Marlborough, Fiordland, Southern Ocean. Operation and repair/maintenance includes single beam, multibeam and sidescan.
